Toy's n' That....
« on: June 27, 2016, 10:24:54 PM »
Hello chaps. My first post here (hopefully there will be a fair few more to come).

After finding a treasure trove of Gothic models in a case at the bottom of a pile o' cases I have got the Gothic bug. So, here I am! Although you may see some Inquisitor 54mm shenanigans here as well from time to time.

Anyway, here is my Imperial fleet. Although I have 2 more Battleships. (1 Emperor and 1 yet to be built - Ideas?) and two cruisers still on sprues.

I also saw an absolutely fantastic Battleship conversion (I think the creator was Tyberius?) and had to make my own :D So here's my attempt. There are many like it but this one is mine! The White Resin is my casts, the grey is from China.

I'm also chugging away at a Black Templars fleet of around about 2500pts.

Hey :) welcome to the forums. That is a cool & massive conversion! You should look up the GothiComp2016 and join in the painting. Info is in a rather new post somewhere on the forum. (UsingTapatalk on mobile so cant easily find it for you)

Cheers :)

Awesome fleet and awesome dreadnought, you should present it to the gothicomp. Maybe we can convince horizont to add a dreadnought category  ::)

Cheers guys. I'll certainly looking into this Gothicomp. It might actually give me some incentive to finish painting stuff!

Speaking of painting. I painted the white/gold on the prow last night so figured I'd show some WIP pics. Excuse the dodgy angle, it's not stuck to the base yet :D

I'm also working on a quick gaming fleet (I hate rushing things I care about). With the exception of the Gothic cruiser all of the below ships are resin recasts - done by me. The swords need their prows finishing and their bases spraying.

I also knocked up a quick 'counts as' Exorcist grand cruiser. I quite like it so might make a few more for the BIG fleet. I'm thinking about covering the torpedo tubes with antenna........ Dunno, thoughts?

The dreadnought is going to be a great adversary to mine :P, your fleets are nice, but I don't particularly like the grand cruiser, I don't know why, it is weird.

Good to see you got on here :)
Now that the beast is nearly finished you need to name her, any plans in that direction?

Wow...that Dreadnought...just wow! As for the Grand Cruiser, I find it to be a very interesting conversion.

Keep up the good work! :D

the rules do allow the exorcist to have torpedoes, maybe leave as is or even magnetise the antennae into the torpedo holes for variation. depending on original v bfg:r rules? i magnetised the masts on some battlecruisers, it was only a little bit fiddly? :)

Cheers guys, sorry no update. I'm waiting on a new ebay Delivery to finish(ish) my Marine and IN fleets. Once that's done I'll get cracking!! I am half way through biulding my Marine Flagship though. Basically a Black Templar version of the Ultima class Battle Barge.

As yet, I have no name for the Dreadnought. Any ideas? (sensible Ideas  ::))

I don't particularly like the grand cruiser

You don't have to like it. You just have to let it blow you up ;) A dreadnought challenge sounds fun! Do you mean your Ork Drednot?

My Marine fleet currently stands at

1x Ultima Battle Barge
2x Battle Barges
6x Strike Cruisers

I just need to pick up some Escorts from somewhere!

I didn't want to be mean with the grand cruiser  ;), it is just my opinion, the most important one on this matters is yours as it is your ship ;D

And yes I mean the deadnot ::) IT WILL KRUZH YOUR LITTE HUMIE SHIP!! :P :P
I hope I can finish it before August

I would give the ship a Latin name related with justice or emperor.

Something like:

Divinae iustitiae, imperator superbia, voluntarem imperatoris

Sorry about the late update. I've had no chance to do any hobby recently due to my Kitchen being redone annnnnnnnnd then my laptop died so I haven't been able to get on here anyway.

Enough excuses though. Indomitable faith sounds good. Very Good.

I've also been able to knock up some fairly simple transports over the last few days.

I also have 10 Escorts and 3 cruisers in the 'practically done' stage so expect some more updates soon-ish. Plus some Inquisitor 54mm goodies as well.

Yeap. Aspect differs from the classical imperial standards, but remain still human. It's a good thing.
