Hired Guns Question
« on: May 31, 2009, 03:52:24 PM »
I know gangs cannot use a hired guns leadership for bottle tests, but can a hired gun use the gang's leader's leadership? I'm looking at the wyrd rules, and they are quite good except that their powers depend on their 7ld. This means they have a 58% chance to use their power each turn. If I kept him around my leader, could he use his 9ld and raise it up to an 83% chance?

Relevant sections:

LRB P.76:
Quote
Any fighter within 6" of the leader may use the
Leadership characteristic of the leader when taking
any Leadership test. This benefit applies so long as
the leader isnít down or broken himself.

LRB P.100:
Quote
Hired Guns donít belong to the gang they fight with
and they donít usually help the gang except by
fighting. This means that Hired Guns donít count as
members of the gang for purposes of collecting
income or for deducting cost of living expenses.

The leader just says 'fighters' may use his leadership, and the hired guns just say the fight. I'd say it's plausible, but I'd like to see what others think.

Psychic tests are separate from Leadership tests whilst still using the same stat

Look at it logically, the Wyrd is channeling the warp not the leader so you use the Wyrd's stat. Otherwise you'd have possesed leaders running around ;)

Okay, sounds reasonable. Just sad, because they can't improve that stat either (unless they get impressive scars, which make them tame chaos better somehow).

58% is pretty unreliable.

If it were any better though people would complain that were horrendously over balanced what with their wyrd powers etc.

Demons dig scars.
