Communications cruiser and repair barge

Don't know if this is the place to post, because I see only a handful of threads here, and wonder if its only for serious semi-official drafts.
But until told otherwise, these ships will be facing me in a campaign by my mad scientist friend, so I wanted to ensure balance.

Its hard to quantify obscure rules that arent hard stats, so help me out here.

one is a communications/intel based light cruiser.  Trying to think of the best way to utilize a balanced rule with it for the Imps, and best we have thought of so far is have it use the Shroud class' +2 LD when enemy is on special orders.  He also wants some other kind of leadership bonus when the ship is within a certain range, since it has no weapons.

Thoughts on points cost for this?

Next is a repair barge escort class.  When within a certain range, btb, whatever, 'repair teams' rule adds dice or lowers the value of end phase repair rolls for one cap ship a turn.

Cobra Widowmaker Style have +1 Ld.
Emperor has +1 Ld due sensor array.

The Campaign section has upgrades which add 10% to a ship. Start from there etc.

A bit more specific info would be fine if you want closer estimations.

I did a Command & Control ship once. I just don't remember what I used on it for the moment. LOL!

First reaction:

Comms ship should give a +1 Ld bonus for EC to it's squadron.

Repair ship should only be efective if in base contact.

In terms of points though everything is relative, what are the rest of the stats for these ships, how well can they use thier abilities?



When I joined the Corp we didn't have any fancy smancy tanks! We had sticks! Two sticks and a rock for an entire platoon, and we had to share the rock!

In terms of the game, a repair barge really isn't going to have enough time to repair hits on a ship. I think a surviving repair barge should give some bonus in campaigns though!

They have repair barges in the new Rogue Trader drafts, btw.
