Necro Muties waepon question

ok i am making some new mutant figs (will be posting finished results in forum) but i need to know, are there any weapons mutants are NOT allowed ?  i usually play the orginal rules and i didnt see any limitations on them, but i wasnt sure under the new rules if that has changed, or if i was reading the rules wrong... any help would be appreciated as i dont want to make some minis that after my hard work i cant use.

well...i guess melta guns are a weapon. Basically iam looking to find out if  there are any limitations on them. i know under the new rules they have this "House Weapon List" thing that wont let certain houses have certain things, so i wasnt sure if since mutants are Outlanders if there was weapon that they was limited on, or not allowed to have. i dont want to go through all the trouble of making a min, only to find out that according to the rules i cant use it.... that would suck :(

Mutants follow the usual weapon rules so aside from the obvious (no plasma guns and the like) you can arm them with whatever their twisted desires want. It's only Redemptionists that can't ever be armed with anything other than what's on their weapon list.

As far as i know the only things they can't have are heavy weapons and shells and grenades. And special weapons unless they get specialist.

Wow I never noticed they can't use grenades and ammo. So officially they can get their grubby mitts on the likes of needle pistols and powerfists but dum-dum bullets are just too techno for them? What silliness.

...now  i have to remake the one i stuck a heavy stubber on...damn.

So i cant give any of them plasma pistols ?

heh, a heavy stubber? I'm not quite sure how you thought you could get away with that.

Yup you can give a scavvy a plasma pistol. The rules get a bit tricky because the Scavvy rules use non-standard weapon category names. Basically, scavvies can be armed with any of the Pistols and Hand-to-Hand Weapons listed in the trading post rules. However, all Pistols and Hand-to-Hand Weapons not listed in the Scavvy weapon list under the Ranged Weapons and Close Combat Weapon categories follow the usual house weapon list rules (i.e. you must expend a rare roll to buy it). So to buy your mutant something like a chainsword, plasma pistol or lasgun, you must expend a rare roll during the post game sequence to buy one of those weapons.

Is that any clearer?

yeah that helps.

i think ill  remove the stubber and change it to a rifle of some type.

Or  are they not allowed any rifle type weapons ?

Yup they are allowed any of the Basic Weapons: autogun, shotgun, lasgun and boltgun. They cannot be armed with any of the Special Weapons unless they are lucky enough to gain the Specialist skill (so needle rifle, flamer, grenade launcher, meltagun and plasma gun).

I'm not sure you'd want to give a Scavvy a grenade launcher.  What with them not being able to buy the ammo  :D

(Which yes, is ridiculous and should be addressed).

Which in itself makes no sense as they are supplied by donations and wealthy backers ???
