[BFG] Discussion / Re: The INVICTA FIDEM - Dreadnought Rules help.
« Last post by Zelnik on Today at 03:05:12 PM »
i think it will be a good idea to consider making specific rules for "Dreadnought" level vessels.

now strictly speaking, I don't like the idea of adding a new class to the game so flippantly, why would this not qualify as a defense given it's size, or a battleship for the sake of movement rules?  I think we all remember what happened to the forgeworld attempts to make things too big for their own good.

the first question one should ask is: What makes a dreadnought? Is it the next step up from battleship? Is that even needed for the sake of the game (and does it even work within the 40k meta?)

Now, over on shapeways, a guy by the name of Tempest_512 has made "glorious battleships" which very much resemble what would make a Dreadnought on size and scale. check out his store here https://www.shapeways.com/shops/chrisships

So I would like to have you all consider:

1. Do we need a new class of ship?

2. Will it marginalize the position of older classes of ship?

3. What would be needed to balance it with the established rules of the game?

4.If it is made, how do we make it available to players with any sort of standardized rules or miniatures?

Currently the 3d artist is working on the cruiser chassis (from which all cruisers are designed), after that, it's on to the battleship, escort, and possibly...

A light crusier design.
I wanted to let all of you know that you did a really great job with the rules. BFG has suffered a LOT over the years, essentially being abandoned by GW, and the promise of new minis falling rather flat (they still haven't fully revitalized Blood Bowl, though Necromunda seems to be doing pretty damn well).

You all keep this hobby going. Keep it up.

Modeling & painting / Re: [BFG] The Fleets of Enceladus

Well, it's certainly been a while, but I haven't forgotten to come back here for an update.

This time, I've added a few custom-built ship designs for Chaos Grand Cruisers made from an assortment of spare pieces. The idea was to try to design something that bridged the gap between the Chaos and Imperial ship designs of BFG.

Finally, I have included a custom-built battleship design, which I had dubbed the Defiance-class. It was also an entry into the ill-fated Gothicomp 2017.

More to come, and hopefully I'm a bit quicker on the next update!

Events / Cold Wars (Lancaster, PA) Epic and Warmaster Tournaments
« Last post by Dave on January 14, 2019, 01:24:51 PM »
I'm running a 2k Warmaster Revolution tournament on Friday, March 15. chivalrynsorcery is also running a 3k Epic Armageddon tourney on Saturday as well.

We had 5 for Warmaster this past Fall In!, but given the interest and the number of New Englanders who couldn't make it I think 8 is certainly doable this time around.

Epic has be slowly growing as well, I'm hoping for 12.
